  • And specifically for the telecom Kyivstar they are still in the testing stage.
  • What has been said is:

At this stage, Kyivstar and Starlink have shared only general information about the upcoming Direct to Cell service and its technology. According to preliminary data, the feature will work with any smartphone that supports eSIM.

  • And as Jeff Donald said, Apple already supports carrier provided Satellite connections including those using StarLink.

Additionally, some carriers have enhanced their cellular network with satellites enabled by partnerships they have established with satellite providers, like Starlink.

Hi, regarding the iPhone, Apple added support for Starlink Direct to Cell technology in iOS 18.3 (released earlier in 2025). This update enables compatible iPhones (iPhone 14 and later) on T-Mobile’s network in the US to send SMS messages via satellite where cellular service is unavailable, with plans to expand to voice and data later. iPhones already support the technology, and the necessary iOS update has been available since early 2025. Other companies like Samsung, Google Pixel, and Xiaomi are also rolling out or planning support for similar satellite connectivity, often integrated with Android 15’s satellite capabilities.
