Magic Trackpad 1 and iPadOS 18

I have a 7th gen iPad mini with the A17 pro chip running iPadOS 18.6.2. I dug out an old 1st gen Magic Trackpad and connected it via bluetooth. The trackpad connects fine, the cursor/dot shows up on the iPad and I can click but I can't turn on tap to click, 2 finger scrolling or any other gestures.

When I go to the Settings->General menu I have "Trackpad & Mouse," not "Trackpad." Under the "Trackpad & Mouse" menu I only have options for tracking speed, natural scrolling (which I can't even do) and secondary click.

Is it possible to use gestures on a gen 1 Magic Trackpad with an iPad?
