Home screen edit button not working after long press
When I long press on my home screen and try to press the edit button, it doesn’t work

Do you find that the edit button is "greyed out", or does it just not respond when you press it? If the latter is the case, start by restarting your iPhone. Turn it off completely, wait a while and turn it back on, and see if that makes a difference.
If you still can't edit your home screen, check to see if you have a profile installed. If your iPhone is tied to your workplace, changing the home screen may be a restriction that only your workplace can change.
Check to see if you have a profile here:
Settings > General > VPN & Device Management
Also check if you have any restrictions enabled in Screen Time, go to:
Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions
