Updates booting out accessories connection

Mac updated to Ventura 13.7.8 and now my Wacom intruos pen tablet won't connect. Every time it tries to sync, it fails. how do I fix this? A few updates ago it the same thing to my portable disk player. They all work on my husbands non Mac but won't connect to mine. Which is unfortunate because I'm the one that needs them. All suggestions are appreciated, I've tried everything I could find to do and still feel like I'm missing something to make them work .

1) Identify the iMac's year model

Identify your iMac model - Apple Support

2) Reset the iMac's SMC and NVRAM

Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

3) Start in Safe Mode, then restart normally

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Have you tried to update the drives and to restart the mac to see if the issues persist ?

Try what den.thed suggested.

When it comes to the Safe Mode boot do the following:

NOTE: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

yes I've tried that. I've gone onto the Wacom site and followed their instruction videos and then did a chat with them. None of the things worked! I'm starting to fear that every time my computer updates, I'll have to buy new accessories for the things I use on the daily. There's got to be something getting overlooked.
