How can I take 24mp photos with .5 lens on iPhone 16 Pro.

How can I take 24mp photos with .5 lens on iPhone 16 Pro.

My iPhone 16 Pro has a 48 megapixel main camera/lens and ultra wide angle camera/lens. When I am using the normal setting with my main camera at 1x, I get 24 megapixel photos. When I use the proraw setting, I can take 48 megapixel photos. However, with the ultra wide angle camera/lens, I can only take either 12 megapixel or 48 megapixel photos, depending on if I’m in the normal setting or in the proraw setting. So if the main camera/lens can take 24 mp photos in the normal setting, why doesn’t the .5 camera/lens take 24 mp photos in the normal setting?

I visited the Apple Store the other day and the 17 Pro .5 camera/lens (which is also a 48 mp lens) takes 24 mp photos in the normal setting, so why not the 16 Pro. Is there a setting I am missing?

Thank you!

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26

SravanKrA,

Thank you for your reply, however, nothing on that page answered my question.

I realize you wish to be helpful, but sending someone to a page where there are links to answers to many different general questions is a bit daunting and frustrating when someone is asking a specific question.

Thanks for sharing, but I am still looking for an answer to my question…
