Apple Developer Program enrollment blocked
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here has gone through something similar and can point me in the right direction.
I recently tried to enroll for the Apple Developer Program as an organization. However, my enrollment was cancelled with the following response:
“We've withdrawn this enrollment because your company is already a member of the Apple Developer Program. Companies may hold only one membership. Please contact the Account Holder of your company's existing membership to be added to the development team.”
The issue is that no one in our company has ever created an Apple Developer account. We’re a very small team (7 developers), and we’ve verified internally that
- no one has signed up previously,
- none of our emails match anything in Apple’s system, and
- there have been no changes to our team.
Important detail regarding the D-U-N-S number:
Our company’s D-U-N-S registration with Dun & Bradstreet was only completed recently. I applied for the Apple Developer Program about one week after the D-U-N-S number was issued. I was the only person who had access to that number, so it wouldn’t have been possible for anyone—current or former—to use it to create an earlier account.
Apple Support has been helpful in communicating, and they offered to forward my contact details to the supposed Account Holder. I agreed, but I haven’t received any response from that “Account Holder,” and I have no idea who it could be.
They later asked me for documentation to verify the company and my role in it. I submitted everything they requested through the secure link provided. It has now been over two weeks, and I haven’t heard back, and the situation remains unresolved.
We’re currently stuck because we need an active Apple Developer account to continue delivering iOS applications for our clients. Our Google Play Developer account has already been verified and is active, so we’re hoping to get things moving on the Apple side as well.
Has anyone been in a situation where:
- Apple says your company already has an account,
- but no one in your organization created it,
- and you have a newly issued D-U-N-S number that makes an earlier registration impossible?
Any advice, shared experiences, or next steps would be greatly appreciated.
