Prevent window from expanding at left or right of screen

This seems to be a recently added "feature," but it annoys me a lot. If I am moving a window and get too close to the left or right of the screen, it expands to fill the entire screen. I looked in Finder settings, but I don't see a place to turn it off. I looked in System settings, too. Does anyone know how to turn this feature off?
