You'll need the original purchase receipt. It can't be traded in for less money at this point as it's not eligible for trade. Who bought the phone? You'll need to speak with them. Further complicating this is typically you can get a refund from Apple within 14 days of purchase, but the phone has to be returned to the country of purchase.

Why didn't you tell us in your first post, you'd already been turned down by Apple as you SHOULD have been turned down?

You cannot use this community to sell anything. Personally, I find it very suspect you "can't" discuss this with whoever "gifted" it to you. You'll have to deal with this outside of Apple or this community.

You're on your own and no one here will help you further.
