You cannot. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/monal-xmpp-chatting/id1637078500?mt=12 says it requires macOS 11 or higher. Realize that few developers are producing versions of anything compatible with a macOS that old.

I am not familiar with the app but to me it looks like yet another messaging app. If between Apple devices, there's Apple's Messages. For third party, Whatsapp. Probably others but I don't actually message anybody ever so I don't pay much attention to them.
