My battery on my Apple I phone 11 iOS 18.16.2 … is ‘significantly degraded’ . I live in a small town without Apple support. I am not technically minded so please be kind …. Can I get a new genuine Apple battery on line and fit it myself… ( many non genuine around) or do I have to buy a new phone ?

Apple does have a self repair option but it starts at iPhone 12. You cannot buy a genuine Apple battery for an iPhone 11 from Apple.
You could buy a non-genuine battery or have it replaced at a third party shop like iFixIt but you are gambling on the quality and if your phone ever needs repair, Apple won't touch it if they determine the phone was tampered with by a non-authorized repair shop or yourself.
Your best bet would be to drive to a larger city with an Apple store or certified repair shop like Best Buy and have them replace the battery.
Apple doesn’t sell their parts for iPhone 11, so you’ll be using a third-party option.

You can organize the repair by shipping the phone for depot repair, as well.

If you have not already done so, it might worth a check to see if there are any authorized repair shops in your general area, which might include shops maybe an hour or two away from your home.
