external monitor going black when displaying with macbook air m2

i have a 2022 macbook air m2 which i connect to an external display (thinkvision T23i-20, 1080p). After connecting to the monitor with a bluerigger usb c to hdmi cable, the monitor just randomly goes black after a minute or two. I can still move the mouse around stuff but then 5-10s after the monitor goes into powersaving mode/sleep. This always happens and idk why.

MacBook Air, macOS 15.3

Monitor Not Working with a M2 Mac:

A. Use a 4K HDMI Cable:

My Mac would not work with my smart TV. A 4K HDMI cable made all the difference. IT is connected to my Mac using this adapter: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple. So, look into using both of the same items.

B. Confirm the Connection:

  1. Hold Down: option button
  2. Click: Apple menu
  3. Select: System Information
  4. Select: Graphics/Displays
  5. Look for: this monitor
