Trying to avoid my iPhone changing what I type in Notes to something else

I am trying to type in Notes on my Apple iPhone 16 Pro, am trying to type in empagiflozin, but I keep seeing it changed to 'emphasizing' or something else. Here - in this question to Apple Support typing on my PC - I can right-click the underlined word that Microsoft (or Apple) doesn't like and 'add it to the dictionary.' How do I make this worthless iPhone accept that when I type something, that is what this 80-year-old wants? I have the same issue with the texting, though there I can also select my spelling among the incessant offerings for correction. I do NOT have Apple Intelligence (like 'Military Intelligence' where I spent some years of my life - an total oxymoron). I see no way to these days, post IOS 24, to now turn off predictive text in Messages...and do not see any similar for use in Notes. Thanks for any attention and a fix (to keep the phone from getting thrown across the room). (Or I guess I could just wait a bit longer and get a pi phone form Tesla.) Ciao, y'all and Happy Holidays from Florida!

Shoiuld should still see predictive text in Notes and can select the spelling you did as you mentioned as shown by my test Note I just did on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I actually tested the same spelling that you reported. It would change to the same correction you have had I just pressed the space bar, however if I select the spelling in quotes all the way to the left, it would use that.

As far as your statement about turning off predictive text in iMessage, that is consolidated in Settings>General>Keyboard. You can turn it off there, it applies to all Keyboards there. You also have the option to turn off Augo-Correction there.

Hope this helps.

You know, you attract more bees with honey, so your particularly negative (cussing isn't necessary) post likely would just make people not want to respond to you.

But the settings for predictive text are in Settings > General > Keyboard - turn off the settings which best meet your needs.

As to whether you should just buy a Tesla phone, this is a user to user only forum, so we don't honestly care what phone you choose to buy. It's always best to buy whatever you think will better your needs. We also don't care if you throw your phone across the room.
