iPhone 16 Pro Max battery drops after turning off and on

I’ve recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and have only been using it for a few days, but every time I turn it off and back on, the battery percentage drops by around 2–3%. My phone is currently on iOS 26.1. Is this normal?

Yes it will use 2-3% rebooting. It's one reason we recommend never turning an iphone off unless it is to try and cancel out a glitch.

There is normally no need to turn it off.

Charge all night every night to 100% with optimised charging activated.
