How do I permanently disable live photos on iPhone?

Here is the dilemma. Every time my wife gives her phone to someone for a photo of her, it ends up being a live photo. We’ve done the ineffectively useless preserve settings workaround that everyone and every AI youtube video suggests, but still, live photos are still possible when some inept user pushes that stinking button in the top left! I want that feature totally GONE and hidden by triple encrypted password lockout!

You can make your camera remember not to take photos as Live Photos. You can also remove the Live Photo button at the top of the display. This applies to iOS 26.

Go to:

Settings > Camera > Preserve Settings > enable Creative Controls.

In the same camera menu, go to the "Indicators" menu and disable Live Photo. Then it cannot be seen in the camera unless the menu is opened and enabled. Unfortunately, there is nothing more you can do.
