How to stop recurring Calendar notifications on iPhone?

How do I dismiss a calendar notification once and for all? These are the notifications before an event. I swipe left on them in the lock screen or wherever but minutes later they ding again. Most often, I’m already on my way to the event. How do I basically tell iPhone, “Thanks, I know. Now quit nagging me.”?

Holding doesn’t show any options other than directions. I’ve tried a lot of different gestures.

I experience the same thing. I work on very different days and times, and therefore have my work days in the calendar. I often experience being reminded that I have to go to work several times while I am on my way to work.

The alarms I get are a reminder of when I have to drive, so my thought would be that if you deactivated Time to Leave, you would avoid being spammed with notifications. I have not tested it myself yet, but you can try deactivating the function.

You can deactivate the function here:

Settings > Apps > Calendar > Default Alert Times > deactivate Time to Leave.

I’ve considered that, but it’s handy when I have to travel and I know I’d forget to enable that when I need it.

Just seems there should be - needs to be - a way to finally dismiss calendar notifications. I could in Android, or maybe it had more to do with the app I was using at the time. I was using Outlook Mobile on Android but have been liking Mail and Calendar more on iPhone (and just iPhone in general).
