Cloudflare app VPN shows unexpected IP address

hey community, I am pretty new to vpns and server ip resolving, I installed the cloudflare app, it’s giving the type correctly, but the address that got installed by the vpn doesn’t use 1.1.1.1, is this normal ?! My understanding is 192.0.2.1 is a local address, why is cloudflare app always forcing resolving, also is cloudflare-dns even legitimate ? I downloaded the app through the App store the DNS from the local cache ?

192.0.2.1 is within one of three blocks of IP addresses reserved for use in documentation and examples. In fact, it's the exact address given as an example in the first paragraph of the IP address article on Wikipedia. I would imagine the Cloudflare VPN has put it there intentionally as part of its normal working.

I don't know. The IPv6 address shown in your photo, 2001:db8:1111::1, also falls within a block reserved for documentation.

On my phone, the same VPN – created by the Cloudflare app – shows the same IPv4 address as it does for you, but I have what looks like a "real" IPv6 address.

Thanks for the reply, I don’t believe this makes sense since I downloaded the app from the App Store why would a production app use two local IPs one of them as you mentioned is for documentation and the other I have no idea about
