I have an iPhone 16 iOS 18.6.2. Today I am not getting notified of incoming text messages. No ring, no screen pop up, nothing. Everyone else in my family is getting text notifications with no issues. I have not changed anything and I tried rebooting my phone. Help!

First: Are you wearing an Watch? If you are, notifications will only alert on the watch, not the iPhone, unless the iPhone is unlocked
Second: Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.
Next: Force restart:
The operative word here is QUICKLY for the first two buttons, then a long hold for the SIDE button; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky. If done correctly this will always work unless the phone has a hardware problem.

Go to Settings/Apps/Messages, tap Notifications, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. If it is on, turn it off, then on again.
Look at Sounds and make sure one is selected.
It rings on my watch just fine when I tried it. I haven’t used my watch at all today until then. It is not ringing for texts when I have my phone locked or unlocked. I don’t even get a pop up box if I’m doing something else on my phone. I do not have a 3rd party vpn. I tried the force restart and that didn’t work either. My phone still rings for a phone call just not a text
I figured it out. I sent myself a timed text. The next day I decided I didn’t need it so I unsent it. Phone would not let me delete the messages. Once the original set time passed I was able to delete it and the phone works just fine. Lesson learned to not text myself
