"No License Found" Microsoft Office Home & Business software for MacBook Pro

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and Microsoft Office Home & Business which came with a 25 Character Product Key that I used to successfully Install the software on my MacBook Pro. I tried to open Microsoft Excel - and I was required to Sign-In to Microsoft or create a new Microsoft Account -- I attempted to create a new Microsoft Account - and I got: "No License Found for this email address...." This is very frustrating. The email associated with my AppleID is my primary email that is work email address that is linked to a separate work Microsoft Account.
