Safari Glitch with third-party HDMI adapters on MacBook M4: Does Apple USB-C to AV adapter require PD power?

Hello,

I’m using a UGREEN HDMI adapter with my MacBook M4. Initially it works fine, but after some time it starts misbehaving. For example, when I click anywhere in Safari, it opens a new tab on its own, and that new tab also doesn’t load. I even tried another brand’s adapter, but the issue remained the same.

Someone suggested that I should connect power to the PD port while using HDMI. However, I don’t want to use an additional cable because I’m already using the MagSafe charger.

Now I’m planning to buy the Apple USB-C to AV adapter. Can anyone confirm whether this adapter also requires power through the PD port, or can HDMI work properly without connecting any power to the PD port? I want to avoid using any extra cable if possible.
