Cannot create app-specific password with 2FA enabled

So I want to upgrade my Alexa but it needs an apple specific password but I don’t have the option to make one at all even tho I have 2fa that’s all I see

Can't create app specific password I go to my apple ID to create app specific password. when I enter the app I want to create a specific password for and click create I get a message box saying to continue on another device and go to apple ID and settings. But when I do that on the second device i see nothing. I have 2FA set up. What am I doing wrong? I used to have an app specific password for this app before but it got wiped out when I changed my apple ID password. Now I need to create a new one.

Is there any way to turn off 2FA when I'm working continuously? I work between my phone, macbook and mac ALL THE TIME, yet still have to deal with 2FA at inconvenient times, like when I need to ask a question of the Apple community and I have to log into my apple account. Logging in from my Mac or Macbook or Ipad forces 2FA to my phone, which i don't always have on me. WHAT IS THE POINT? I'm a confirmed user of an apple device just trying to get to the apple community. I really want to ditch 2FA except for financial related matters like the wallet app. How can I do that?

You need to create an app-specific password online: Sign in to apps with your Apple Account using app-specific passwords - Apple Support. You cannot do it directly on your iPhone.
