Unable to load music from CDs to iTunes or Apple Music any longer.

Hello - Has anyone else been told that we no longer have the functionality to be able to transfer music from CDs to iTunes or Apple Music to sync with iPhone and iPad? This is disturbing to me. I don’t want to buy this music again (if it’s even available).

How to transfer music from cd to iphone with new itunes I am trying to copy music from a CD to my iPhone via a PC using itunes and instructions in the community. It worked once, but then I was encouraged to download the new itunes app, which I did. Now I can get the music to transfer from CD to PC, but it does not show up in my Apple Music nor can I find it anywhere else on the PC. So unable to complete the next step, which is to use itunes to sync to the iphone.

I haven’t been told any such thing.

You do need to have an external optical drive, as Macs haven’t come with built-in optical drives for something like 10+ years. Apple discontinued their external optical drive (the USB SuperDrive). But third-party drives that will work are available from various suppliers.
