While I understand your first sentence, BEFORE I updated my iPhone 14 from iOS 18 to iOS 26, everything worked fine. After?? Nope. HUGE issues with the phone function. Everything else seemed to work but the phone function itself was jacked.
The easiest description is a delay when 1) dialing, waiting for someone to answer or 2) answering, waiting for someone to be able to hear me. If I call you, sometimes I'll hear it ringing right away and then you answering like normal. Other times, the first sound I'll hear is your voice with no ringing or anything on my end. When you call me, the phone will light up and may make noise immediately like normal. Other times it lights up and NEVER makes a sound. The delays/lag can be anywhere from 5-30 full seconds.
I took it to MicroCenter and they were able to get it back to correct.
Along comes iOS 26.1 and right back to the same problems as before.
Visited the Apple Store. They suggested reprovisioning my phone with Verizon. No change.
Ordered a new phone through my company thinking it might just be because my phone was older.
Nope. Exact same problem because, during setup, I stupidly updated to iOS 26.1.
Yesterday I found a new little aggravation: I can't conference anyone into a call. If I try it just drops the original caller. Did hard resets multiple times, reset the network settings. NOTHING.
A phone that won't operate as a phone is useless in my world. Apple needs to own this one as there are too many people having issues for this to NOT be tied to the iOS update.
