My macbook recently got updated to the macOS 26.1 version, how do i get the old brightness/volume icon on my macbook? The icon that’s in the middle of the screen? That Icon is literally the reason i got my mac haha.

With Apple evolution, what is past is not necesarily prologue. Once they change something in the operating system, it stays changed with no user alternative. People writing code in a vacuum have no idea how users actually use their Macs…
I too miss the pop-up volume/mute indication just above the dock where it is in direct view.

But like is there any way to get the old icon back? Like I feel the need to have the old version. The older version is way better than this one. Is there no setting where i can change it?
The brightness & volume bars now appear on the upper right of the screen where other notifications are presented. They tend to be translucent so they are very easy to miss.
No way short of reverting to previous OS.
