How can I adjust age restrictions for specific apps on my child's iPhone?

My child is age 15 and would like to download instagram, which is rated as 13+. I have set her at age 12+ for app restrictions, because I don't want her to have access to 17+ apps at this time. Is there a way I can access an inbetween age restriction, or to override this restriction to allow a couple specific apps that I feel are appropriate for her?

You cannot set a custom age like “13+,” but you can install Instagram for your child without giving access to all 17+ apps. The best method is using Ask to Buy: your child initiates the download and you approve it. Alternatively, temporarily increase the age rating, install Instagram, then lower it again — the app stays installed.
