Apple Watch Series 10 Jet Black pain is peeling

Apple Watch Series 10 Jet Black pain is peeling. I went to the Apple Store and was told it was cosmetic, not covered on the standard warranty. I spent a ton on this for my mom for Christmas, cellular too, and it looks horrible. I’m not the only one. Am I the only one that thinks Apple should replace these?
