Print a Word document in color on Mac

There are variables involved in your question. Please help us more effectively help you:

— What Mac model and sub-model, from "About this Mac..."

— What macOS version, also from "About this Mac..."

— What version of Word?

— Whar printer make and model?

I have an Epson ET 3850 connected to a M4 Pro Macbook Pro running macOS Tahoe 26.1, Word is fully updated tot eh latest version. This is the print dialog box for that combo:

At least with my config, when I select the Epson color printer, Word defaults to printing in color. Note that if you do NOT want color, you have to tell it using the checkbox I outlined in red.

Word documents that use color normally print in color, if you have a color printer.

If you all that you have is a black and white printer, obviously they don’t print in color.
