How to turn off Center Stage

Here’s a helpful tip: If you want to turn off Center Stage, the feature that makes your camera follow your movement during video calls — there’s a quick way to do it.


This method comes from Nikki White’s original tutorial video, which offers a super simple walkthrough.


  1. Open the app you’re using (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.) and turn on your camera.
  2. Look at the top menu bar on your Mac. When your camera is active, you’ll see a green camera icon.
  3. Click the green camera icon, then uncheck “Center Stage.”
