Assistance Needed with Apple Vision Pro Setup in ABM

Hello All,

I'm trying to manually add the Apple Vision Pro to ABM using Apple Configurator, but I'm not seeing the six-digit code appear on the Vision Pro. I've already tried resetting both the Vision Pro and the Configurator, but it hasn't helped.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Vyasa

It seems like you haven't provided an internet connection to the Apple Vision Pro. The documentation only makes a brief reference to internet being required and it's easy to miss, plus providing the connection is not at all straightforward, so Apple could definitely make this part of the process clearer.

You need a Developer Strap, and there are two ways to proceed, one with a Mac and one without.

With Mac:

  • Connect the Developer Strap and plug the AVP into your Mac
  • Open Apple Configurator and restore the AVP
  • Deploy a Wi-Fi profile to the AVP via Configurator
  • Open Configurator for iPhone, signed in to required ASM/ABM/ABE Managed Apple Account
  • Put on the AVP and the code will display as soon as it recognises the mobile device nearby (usually a few seconds)
  • Enter the code into Configurator for iPhone, and wait for the AVP/Configurator for iPhone to confirm the addition was successful
  • Restore the AVP via the button displayed after confirming successful addition, or restore via Configurator on the Mac
  • Process complete

Without Mac:

  • Attach the Developer Strap and plug in a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, which is connected to the internet
  • Restore the iPad via Settings with Erase All Contents & Settings, and take it off
  • Open Configurator for iPhone, signed in to required ASM/ABM/ABE Managed Apple Account
  • Put on Apple Vision Pro and the code will display once it detects the mobile device running Configurator for iPhone
  • Enter the code into Configurator for iPhone
  • Restore the AVP with the spatial button displayed after successful addition
  • Process complete

I hope that helps.

If you don't have a Developer Strap, you can purchase them via an Apple Developer account, or your reseller should also be able to if they can sell the Apple Vision Pro itself (this is the case for the Australian reseller I work at, but unsure if it's the default globally).

Wondering whether you are signed in to the Apple Vision Pro with the same details you use for ABM:

If the Apple Vision Pro is used for both personal and business accounts:
