No, there is no requirement that you use a MagSafe case. But if you ever want to use MagSafe accessories, like MagSafe charging, you will need to use a MagSafe case.


Personally, we moved to MagSafe charging long ago, so I would never use a case which isn't MagSafe. I also use a MagSafe Wallet on occasion. Once you go MagSafe, it really is fantastic.
