Shuffle Landscape "Continuously" setting not working

Hello all,

I am having an issue with the wallpaper/screensaver not changing when the shuffle interval is set to "continuously". I have tried making sure that both the wallpaper and screensaver settings are the same, have changed the interval to 12 hours, and deleted/redownloaded all the hidden wallpaper files. I have already submitted a bug report to Apple and have seen multiple other reports and posts from macOS users having this same issue. Any recommendations on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

I am currently on a MacBook Air 15" with M3 chip, using macOS 26.1

De-sync Wallpaper & Screensaver (very important)

Even if both appear to use the same images, they must not point to the same folder or album.

Do this:

System Settings → Wallpaper
Choose your shuffled wallpaper set.
System Settings → Screen Saver
Change it to ANYTHING ELSE:

- Flurry
- Album Art
- Slideshow with different album
- Aerial

Do NOT select the same wallpaper set.

This fix alone restores Continuous mode for MANY users.

Hello! Thank you for the instruction!

I tried setting the wallpaper to shuffle landscape-continuously and the screensaver to "drift" but I am still seeing no change. I tried restarting my mac after making this change as well. I may just not be waiting long enough to see the wallpaper change; do you happen to know the time interval for the change on the "continuously" setting?
