Trying to restore from Time Machine, wired mouse stopped working. How do I wake up computer and click "continue"?

Problem was, I had my "spare" wired mouse and keyboard handy and plugged them both in ... and they both stopped working at a certain point in the recovery/restore. No idea what was going on. Resolved now, though. Thanks for responding!

Well, I don't even know what exactly I did. It wouldn't let me back up from the Time Machine external drive. I don't remember the message I got. So I tried to reinstall Ventura. It wouldn't let me do that because I didn't have a real internet connection (problems with my provider so I've been using my phone as a hotspot). THEN I used disk utility for...everything. Took forever, during which the wired mouse and keyboard again stopped working, so once it got through everything I shut the computer off, turned it back on...and got my regular desktop! No idea what happened, but I'm very happy to have my computer back. Thank you so much for trying to help out a techno-moron!

Yes -- assuming that that's just holding the power button until startup options show? That's what it sounds like from what I'm seeing online. I'll give it another try. Thanks!
