Macbook M4 stuck at Select disk screen

I erased and reset my Macbook Air M4 2025. After the "Activate Mac" screen, I clicked on Reinstall macOS Sequoia. However, it did not show any option on "Select the disk where you want to install macOS". I'm stuck on this screen. When I clicked back on Disk Utility and clicked on APPLE SSD AP0256Z Media, it did not show any Macintosh HD under it. When I try to click on the erase option, it also fails with the following message:

The volume on disk0 couldn't be mounted because it is in use by process 0 (kernel), which couldn't open device: (-69877).

It doesn't allow me to erase it. Please help.

Rather than using the "Erase" option on that disk, try using the "Partition" option instead.

Partition the drive using the APFS Format, GUID Scheme and give the drive the name Macintosh HD.

If the partition process completes without error, then you can exit Disk Utility and proceed to Reinstall macOS.
