MacBook M1 battery drains fast after update to 15.3.2

Macbook M1 battery drain fast after update to 15.3.2

My mac battery would run from 100% to 0% overnight after the update. Basically the battery keeps running even when it is not in use. This issue never happen before the update. And my battery health is 84% which is normal. I checked the activity monitor and the figures look ok.

I don't know if update to 15.7.2 can fix the issue or could make it worse.

Update to the latest available Sequoia OS, 15.7.2.

There have been many, 8 or 9, releases to address security, bugs and glitches and make improvements to the OS performance between 15.3.2 and 15.7.2. It may well be there is a battery management adjustment in there somewhere.

About battery health management in Mac laptops - Apple Support

In a nutshell, to get the most from your battery:

• Let the OS and charging circuits manage the charging.

• Plug in when using the computer near available power.

• Use on battery when ac is unavailable or when you must be mobile.

• Don’t subject the computer and battery to extreme temperatures.

• Don’t allow the battery to regularly discharge deeply before plugging in. Yes, it may happen from time to time, just don't make it a habit.

• Don’t obsess over battery life and/or health.
