As "numbers" does not respond to Conditional Highlighting in a cell containing a formula,I wish to indicate a "false"indicator if the cell exceeds say 360 days.

Convert the formula result to a numeric day count using VALUE() or TODAY() - A2.

Conditional highlighting allows you to make rules for durations, including "greater than or equal to", and you can put 360d into the rule (which it will convert to 51w 3d, which is the same thing so don't be alarmed).
