iOS 26 audio routing bluetooth vs phone speaker

I have issue after updating to iOS 26 on my iPhone 16. I am not able set voice guidance over phone speaker, when connected to cars handsfree over bluetooth and listening to broadcast radio. I have to disable A2DP profile in my car, to be able to to switch to phone speakers in navigation app. Tested with waze, maps and ios maps

why is my iphone 12 calling my car radio during apple maps navigation? When my iphone 12 is connected via bluetooth to my car entertainment system, it no longer just sends the audio through the speakers specifically when using Apple Maps. My phone "calls" the system to give the audio directions - and yes, it shows as a phone call on the screen. This does not happen for Google Maps or other things, just Apple Maps. I have seen some general responses to this but nothing that provided workable instructions on how to actually resolve the issue. My spouse has the exact same phone, exact same IOS loaded, and mine is the only one with this issue and it is aggravating.

How to prevent iPhone from auto-connecting to bluetooth audio devices? I have a few Bluetooth devices in the house that, if left on, my phone automatically connects to them. What I’ve been doing to prevent this is turn off Bluetooth on my phone. But when I do this, I lose other functions on my phone (like handoff). Where is the setting on iOS to prevent the phone from automatically connecting to Bluetooth audio devices? The default audio output should be the phone speaker, unless I choose otherwise. iPhone air ios 26

Try this (no guarantees): Go to Settings/Apps/Maps and turn off Directions on Radio.
