After some additional research

This is what we find

The M3 MacBook Air has a MagSafe 3 charging port. Apple Support+1

It also has two Thunderbolt / USB-4 (USB-C) ports that also support charging. Apple Support+1

That means you can charge it via MagSafe 3 (magnetic cable) or directly via USB-C — whichever cable you use. Apple Support+1

Because the M3 MacBook Air supports both MagSafe 3 and USB-C charging, you have two main cable-type options:

USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable — this is the cable Apple includes with the MacBook (for magnetic connection). Apple Support+1

USB-C to USB-C cable — a standard USB-C cable that supports charging (ideally with USB-PD / USB-C Power Delivery).

For reliability, you want a cable that supports enough wattage

The M3 MBA for 2023 using the " 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter " and the OEM cable

Using this setup to charge the computer

OP wrote and quote " Troubleshooted by restarting, and changing ports, with no changes to charge cycle or battery health mgmt "

Would use the USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable making it not possible to change charging ports

So I have no idea what the other posing it talking about
