Bluetooth device battery levels not displayed after update to Tahoe

Last month I upgraded to Tahoe 26.1. I no longer have the battery levels displayed for my bluetooth devices when you click on the bluetooth icon in the top menu. Is there a setting somewhere to display that again as I'm not finding it. And if there isn't a way, why on earth would Apple remove this? My magic mouse just died on me as I didn't know the battery level no longer displays (how I discovered it is missing). Thanks

Not sure why your is not showing. I see no settings to show charge level but they show anyway once the device is connected. This is from the menubar icon on my M4 Pro Macbook Pro running 26.1:

You can also see the charge levels in System Settings > BlueTooth:

Will check the same from my wife's M4 iMac running 26.1 as soon as her mouse recharges!

EDIT: Looks the same on her iMac.
