Screen turns off and phone gets stuck on calls

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it becomes very buggy during calls. When I touch the area near the front camera with my ear or even sometimes with my hand, the screen freezes or acts strangely. I cannot end the call after the screen turns off I literally have to wait for the other person to end the call for my screen to turn on again. This happens on WhatsApp calls, normal phone calls, and Google Meet.
