How do I view the full path of an email's location in Apple Mail?

I have organized my emails in Apple Mail - I have several different email addresses and use mailboxes with categories of sub-mailboxes, which may have further sub-mailboxes under them. How can I find in which primary sub-mailbox an email is stored? For example: Renovation - Hardware - Door Hardware. The email location in the upper right hand corner of the email just shows the mailbox where it resides (e.g. Door Hardware), but does not show the full path. Using Sequoia 15.6.1 on a 14" MacBook Pro.

I think I see what you're asking, and don't think you can do this. The header only shows the lowest level folder name along with the account.

In theory it's not a huge problem, unless you have the same subfolder name under multiple top-level folders, e.g. here I have two folders 'ABC' and "DEF", each with an 'Expenses', 'Paid', and 'Pending' subfolder:

When I select any subfolder, the header shows me the folder I'm looking at at the top, but it isn't absolutely clear which subfolder it is (is it ABC->Expenses, or DEF->Expenses).

There's no control over this. You will have to look to the sidebar to determine the hierarchy.

Long-term, you can try Feedback - Mail - Apple and submit a feature request to add full path options to the header (at least when it's ambiguous), but that's about it it.
