How to rollback? Iphone se 3rd gen

Hi,

ios26.1 here: I need to rollback my iphone se 3rd generation. I’m afraid I have no old backup to load, I only backup my apps’ data.

The only answer I can find on the internet is “you can’t rollback”.

Full wipe wouldn’t be a problem.

How do I roll back to ios18?

Thank you for replying. I guess I’ll wait and see if the new ios gets better with time. Atm my battery has become a countdown, even when the cellphone is idle : /

If your battery is depleting faster than you expect, it may not be because of iOS 26.1.

  1. You may have something running in the background which needs to be closed. Try a simple Forced Restart --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Your battery health may be a point where its time to have a new battery put in your phone. Batteries don't last forever. When their health dips to 80% or below, the useful life of the battery has been spent. Open Settings > Battery > Battery Health - what is shown there?

Thank you for the link! It’s not even the Liquid Glass thing, though, which I hate but can get used to. I mean, it’s not like we’re given alternatives, right?

It’s a matter of functionality: for example, I can’t find a way to block a phone number without having to navigate in the settings while in ios18 I merely went to the number’s info and block it. Safari’s new interface looks like it uses more space up and it’s less intuitive.

And this battery drain is getting crazy, I’ll have to buy a new phone if it’s not fixed.

If the phone's itself and its functions still do the trick for you, consider a new battery.

Preferably Apple or at least Apple Approved.

Your phone will be anywhere from 8-9 months to 3.5yrs old, it will be an affordable way to prolong usability of your phone.

I recently put a new battery in a 13Pro that we use as a back up device in the family.

(Saves me 4x phone insurance, and they all know what happens if their current iPhone breaks.. it is not an immediate new one ;) )

A note to point out that Apple does not "approve" any 3rd party batteries. Only one type of battery is "approved" and that would be a genuine Apple battery available only from the Apple Store / Genius Bar or an authorized Apple service shop.

Users can find a list of authorized service shops in their area by using this link:

Find Locations

Give it a try yourself. You might find an authorized service shop closer and more convenient than the Apple Store if service is required.
