How to restore app icons on iPhone 16

Do you mean you are seeing the generic black/white icon for an app? If so, perform a Force Restart:

• Press and quickly release Volume Up
• Press and quickly release Volume Down
• Press and HOLD Side button until the Apple logo appears. This could take up to 15 seconds while holding the side button and you have to ignore anything else on the screen. If you do not see the Apple Logo while holding the side button then try again as it may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct.

Access the App Library:

If apps are not seen, then you may have intermittently deleted removed them from a Home Screen. So, keep swiping to the far-right until you reach the App Library. From there, hold you finger down on the icon, and drag it back to the desired Home Screen.
