I want to change my default photo saved from HEIC. I preferred JPEG. Now in this new HEIC every time I click on it in files. It opens up my printer. That is not what I want at all. It’s getting frustrating to have so many extra steps to go through to save each image one by one back to JPEG.

Set iPhone/iPad Camera to shoot "Most Compatible" .jpg images and H.264 movies instead newer .heic and H.265/HEVC.
At least on a Mac you can use Finder QuickActions as well as many 3rd party apps to batch convert .heic as .jpg.
Set your device to shoot new images as .jpg and use some app to convert old .heic to .jpg.
I tried the HEIC to JPEG app and you still have to do it one by one. As far as setting it up to automatically save as JPEG I have not found a way to do that.
