How to recover Gmails from Time Machine?

I had a named mail folder within Gmail open and somehow deleted the contents. I looked for the individual mail and found the past 30 days more or less in the Archive folder in Gmail--but I can't find the other older ones. I have Time Machine, but Apple Support said it was a Gmail issue which takes me nowhere with customer service there. Is there a way to find the specific name Gmail folder contents in Time Machine and recover them? No they are not in the Trash.

I just need to find the contents of one named folder in Gmail which had years of emails in it. I'm afraid to backtrack my whole system when I just need to find that one folder. Seems impossible?

If time machine backup is like itunes/icloud backup then it ALL or nothing.

Suggest you escalate your issue with gmail support, since Apple told you it was gmail issue.
