Apple Music skips beginning of every song

Apple Music cuts out a bit in the beginning of every song I try to listen to.

I do not use the app to stream music. I only listen to music I have already stored on the device as mp3 files.

Not sure when this started but I noticed it first when I updated to Tahoe.

It is less than a second of audio missing but this still breaks the experience for me.

Changing random settings and browsing Google did obviously not help at all - otherwise I wouldn't be bothering people here.

This unfortunately is a long-standing problem with a couple other threads here. So far I haven't seen a solution. I don't know how to make Apple care.

To the OP and All those Affected.

This seems to be catching on. So, report this to Apple…

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Report this to AppleApple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback Apple receives on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in upcoming updates.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: “Applications/Utilities” for “Feedback Area
  4. Comment: when this all started, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include the URL to this thread.
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

What I am not certain about – on my MacBook, to be able to play local files using Apple Music, it will automatically upload them to the Cloud (as AAC), and I wouldn't know of any other way to play aforementioned local files using Apple Music… am I not getting it?

Also, maybe more importantly, do you have an Apple Music subscription? Because that might be part of the picture.
