MacBook Pro M2 only supports one external display at a time

Hi!

I’m using a MacBook Pro with an Apple M2 chip and a Dell S2722QC monitor. I recently bought a second identical monitor and tried to connect both at the same time, but I’ve run into an issue.

Each monitor is connected through its own USB-C port. Individually, they work perfectly — if I unplug one, the other immediately picks up the display. This confirms that the cables, ports, and monitors themselves are all functioning correctly.

However, I can’t get both monitors to work simultaneously. It seems like the laptop only supports one external display at a time. Is it really the case?

Your tag line indicates that you have a 13” MacBook Pro. The 13” M2 MacBook Pro has a plain M2 chip, and only supports one external monitor, unlike its higher-end 14” siblings with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.
