System data is taking up too much space

This is too much space being taken for system data is there any fix yet

"Thanks for the tip, but despite the longevity of its presence, it doesn’t work. It is a workaround. Your tip will free up the space, but eventually the System Data re-fills all available the newly-freed data. This comes at the expense of the hassle of restoring from backup. This remains a bug unsolved by Apple. There is no fix."

While Apple has certainly made this problem more difficult and frustrating than it should have ever been, it's not an Apple bug per se. And there is a fix. Finding it will be a challenge, but there's always a fix.


I recommend starting your own question with your own details to find the fix.

Clearing System Data:

My 2021 MBP has been giving me the same issue. Gave Apple a buzz, and they provided me with a bunch of code to enter in Terminal --it knocks down all the way in the bar in Disk Utility. I'm considering authoring a User Tip on it.
