Tahoe producing constant ghost images on the screen under the cursor

The cursor on my MacBook Pro with Tahoe 26.1 continuously creates annoying "ghost" images right under the cursor that obscure just enough of the screen to interfere with operations I am trying to complete.

See attached screen shots to help illustrate what I am trying to describe.

These ghost images obscure anything behind them and when they appear when I am trying to fill in a screen form it makes it impossible to see what I'm filling in.

And they seem to be appearing near constantly now.

Here are 3 samples. I have screenshots of more examples.

Truth be told, the quality of my entire Finder user interface had been significantly degraded since Tahoe 26.1. Inexplicable lag times in certain operations. But that's a different issue and I need to be able to describe it in more precise detail for it to be comprehensible.

verify your software is up to date—

The current stable release of Tahoe including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 26.2

Nothing about your windows looks right. This may be somehow related to whatever is making that 1990's look and those borders around everything. This is what the Apple Community home page looks like in Safari on my M4 Pro Macbook Pro running Tahoe with no add-ons or Accessibility options set:

If you have a UI-altering app installed, disable it. If not, start check what Accessibility options amy be engaged from System Settings > Accessibility.

I sometimes encounter something similar at times and it is annoying. I'm not aware of any timer settings to delay those popups, I just try to keep the pointer moving. I use List view so I'm also able to keep the pointer outside of the name field which may prevent it as well (I'm not at my Tahoe system at the moment to confirm).

Also, you may want to update to 26.2 which was just released last week to see if that makes any difference.
