Mail app search results hidden on iOS 26

Actually figured it out. I had “reduce transparency enabled, and the box that should be beneath the app elements is broken and covering the screen.

disabling this option “fixed” the issue, but it *** that I have to turn off reduced transparency to do so

FIXED: this is an unfortunate solution, but it will work 100% until Apple decides to fix it. To reduce battery drain an extra CPU drain I turned on “reduce transparency” I don’t care about liquid glass. I care about longevity and

stability. This is the culprit. Turn off, reduce transparency and the issue resolved. This is unfortunate. Apple gave us an option to toggle the feature on and off, but turning feature off messes up the UI, which makes no sense to me.

Not many are complaining about this one. You can try a forced restart https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios

If no better then go to settings, Apps, Mail, Mail accounts, find the email provider in question then delete the account (for iCloud just turn off Mail switch)

Then after restarting again, Add the account back (or turn iCloud Mail back on)

Maybe Set your forum default sort order to "Oldest" in your user preferences to follow the thread as it was posted.

This same thing happened to me when I updated and it has not been fixed as of Feb 13, 2026. I reported the bug. I have done everything recommended, from restarting my phone to reinstalling my mail client—it happens no matter whether it’s an Outlook account or a Gmail account or something else. The problem is with the Mail app. I think a lot of these forum user “experts” bash people into believing that there’s something wrong with their tech skills. I’m tech savvy and sometimes updates screw up our devices. I’ve had numerous bugs since coming to iOS 26 and its updates and even other bugs with the Mail app (like blue dots remaining, even when emails have been read).

(I’ve been in the Apple universe with all devices for decades and it is my belief that the company has gone downhill, but the alternatives are worse for me personally.)

Regardless, the user who said to report the bugs to Apple was right. Also can’t hurt to call support b/c they also report problems they see. I was told that this is a known bug. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Maybe someday it will be fixed.

no, not jailbroken or anything like that. And I think I made it perfectly understandable regarding that it was something that was working perfectly fine prior to installing the iOS26, and rather the problem began after upgrading from old iOS to new iOS26 and been there since then through 26.1 and now 26.2

Sometimes we post pre-prepared answers in order to cover everything and prevent coming back and forth with additional questions.

In this case it appears to be inexplainable and therefore probably a bug.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

I’m running into the same issue. It’s been like this since I updated last year. Super annoying
