Scratches on side of iphone

Eventhough I have been using a case since I have my iphone, it seems to be having scratches on the sides. I don’t understand how? I clean my iphone and case with a microfiber towel once 3/4 weeks. The scratches makes no sense since i have never used it without a case..

yh it covers the scratch area. I had the same problem with my older iphone so must be something i be doing but i don’t see anything wrong. Never put the case only when im cleaning it. And it’s always more on the same side (right)

Seeing as this thread has been resurrected...

Surely you are not blaming Apple? We can definitely say that you (or someone with access to the phone) scratched it. Does that help?

Does the case actually cover the scratched area? I have noticed that since iPhones now have large exposed areas because of ports and camera lenses, they are not as protected by cases which need to leave those areas free. Have you also cleaned the inside of the case? If something gets in there I could see having a case could actually make things worse by holding something abrasive against the iPhone.
