There may be something wrong with the NFC technology on your iPhone. If it continues to work incorrectly, you might want to walk-in or make an appointment with the Genius Bar in an Apple Store and they might be able to run diagnostics on your device. I would ask through chat or through the phone first and they may direct you to a store.
If you want to go the Apple Support route, you need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.
